One of the UK's most influential travel writers

Recently ranked as one of the UK's 50 most influential travel writers in a poll conducted by the Press Gazette, I'm an award-winning travel writer, travel photographer and occasional TV presenter born in the UK and based in Brighton. Over the decade or so I have been writing about travel, I've been lucky enough to travel all over the place - in particular to South East Asia and countries of the former Soviet Union. I've also lived in Rwanda in East Africa, France, Spain and Australia

Travel writer

My travel features have been published in The Daily Mail, The Times, the Independent, Wanderlust and Travel Weekly. I've also worked with a number of design agencies to produce customer magazines for travel businesses. I was formerly Travel Editor for Independent Magazines, writing regular travel features for their stable of weekly titles: Girl About Town, Ms London, 9-5, Midweek, London and More and Living Abroad Magazine (LAM). In a previous incarnation I even wrote TV scripts for The Big Breakfast.

TV Presenter

During the summer of 2006 I presented undercover reports on ITV1's Holidays Undercover. And I've appeared as an expert on Channel 5's the Hotel Inspector. I'd really like to do more TV work - so do get in touch if you're looking for a new face to front a travel TV concept.

Guidebook Writer

I'm author of the Frommer's guidebook Day By Day Seville and Frommer's Complete Seville, Granada & Andalusia.

Content Strategy

I currently spend much of my time working for web marketing and social media company iCrossing as Travel Editor, commissioning and writing travel features and destination guides for major UK tour operators and airlines. Increasingly I'm working on developing content strategies for these companies too - using search term and social media research to help them work out who their customers online really are, what to publish for them and where to publish it.

Other projects in the pipeline

– The inevitable idea for a novel – based of course on a character that bares a striking resemblance to himself.
– The ultmate road trip – a TV documentary about driving a car across one of the world's largest and most under populated continents.
– Just to make life interesting I also edit and write for a magazine for men in Wales called RedHanded.

– To find out what I'm up to right now, have a look at my travel writing blog.
